This role within Whole Foods Market focuses on the preparation, service, sanitation, and stocking within the Prepared Foods section. It is integral to the customer experience and upholding the company’s standards of quality and service excellence. The individual in this role will be actively engaged on the sales floor, working closely with customers and fellow team members to ensure the highest standards of product presentation and customer care. Responsibilities include handling food safely to meet company and regulatory guidelines, managing inventory with attention to rotation and labeling, and supporting merchandising efforts to maximize sales potential. This position requires adherence to health and safety regulations and active participation in store programs and initiatives. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing and walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • ability to bend, twist, squat and reach
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders
  • no prior retail experience required

Job Duties

  • Assists with production for all prepared foods venues
  • ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • ensures product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • ensures product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
  • helps customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and products at conventional stores
  • ensures that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
