This role as an Assistant Team Leader is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about retail management and leadership within a purpose-driven company. The Assistant Team Leader will develop and maintain creative store layouts and effective product merchandising strategies. You will collaborate with the Team Leader to analyze sales reports, manage labor schedules, and maintain vendor relationships. Leading by example, you will motivate and mentor Team Members, promote teamwork, and enhance morale in the department. Your customer-focused approach will ensure that customer needs are consistently anticipated and met, leading to elevated customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- standing or walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
- hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- exposure to temperatures ranging from freezing to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- able to work in wet and dry conditions
- flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18+ months retail Team Member experience
- 6+ months supervisory experience
- advanced product knowledge
- knowledge of regulatory and safety policies
- proficiency in mathematical skills for financial assessment
- strong leadership and decision-making skills
- excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
- proficient in email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
Job Duties
- Develops and maintains creative store layout and product merchandising
- works with Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets
- assists Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports and labor
- demonstrates advanced product knowledge and maintains awareness of new products
- maintains good vendor relationships and ensures proper paperwork submission
- resolves team concerns or issues
- acts as departmental person in charge in absence of Team Leader
- sets and achieves highest standards of retail execution
- fosters positive teamwork environment and morale
- communicates and models WFM vision and goals
- manages customer flows and directs Team Members
- selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates and counsels Team Members
- provides timely and thorough performance evaluations
