Known for its breathtaking views, challenging terrain, and exceptional year-round outdoor activities, Snowbird attracts visitors and employees who share a deep passion for the mountains and the outdoors. The resort operates across distinct summer and winter seasons, providing a dynamic work environment that offers full-time, part-time, and seasonal employment opportunities to a diverse team of remarkable individuals dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Snowbird takes pride in fostering an inclusive, respectful workplace that embraces diversity of background, thought, gender, race, and sexual orientation. The resort ensures a welcoming environment where employees are valued and supported, with a strong commitment to professional conduct and compliance with workplace policies including background checks, drug and alcohol screening, and a professional appearance. Snowbird also recognizes the importance of employee well-being by offering competitive benefits such as ski pass privileges, employee discounts, and health insurance options.
The role of Prep Cook at The Summit is a full-time position paying $19 per hour. This role is vital to the culinary operations at Snowbird, requiring individuals who are passionate about food preparation and kitchen hygiene. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients by washing, chopping, and cutting vegetables and meats, as well as ensuring that all areas of the kitchen remain clean and orderly throughout the workday. This position requires a person who can multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment while maintaining strict adherence to food safety, quality, and preparation standards.
The Prep Cook will work closely with the Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to support daily kitchen operations and contribute to creating an exceptional dining experience for guests. Key responsibilities include handling and labeling all ingredients properly, measuring ingredients accurately for recipes, preparing basic dishes such as salads and appetizers, and maintaining compliance with food handling and sanitation policies. Additionally, the Prep Cook is expected to demonstrate a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure, all of which are essential for success in this busy kitchen setting.
Candidates should be prepared to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays, with occasional overnight stays required in case of road closures. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for prolonged periods. Employees benefit from a comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision and accident insurance, a 401k plan, and discounts at resort eateries, retail shops, mountain school, lodging, and daycare services. There is also free transportation to work provided via UTA bus, rideshare vans, and employee shuttles. Snowbird offers a unique opportunity to join a team that values both outdoor adventure and culinary excellence in one of the most exciting mountain resort destinations in the country.
