The role of the Prep Cook is an essential position within our kitchen brigade. The Prep Cook works directly under the leadership of the executive chef to fulfill all food preparation requirements. This role is responsible for performing routine and necessary tasks to support the line cooks in delivering perfect meals to our guests. Duties include chopping vegetables, breaking down stations, cutting meats, weighing and mixing ingredients, washing and preparing vegetables, and properly storing food. The Prep Cook must work efficiently and with great attention to detail, ensuring that all ingredients are ready and available for use during service hours. This position requires someone who can follow clear directions, maintain high sanitation standards, and collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff. Our Prep Cook contributes significantly to the smooth operation of the kitchen, ensuring timely and consistent food preparation which is critical in a fast-paced restaurant setting. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in food service or hospitality field
  • Ability to use manual dexterity to cut and chop food
  • Be able to stand for the entirety of a scheduled shift
  • Be able to work in hot and cold conditions
  • Food handler's card may be required according to local or state regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Culinary degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in food service or hospitality
  • Strong listening skills to understand directions
  • Clear communication skills
  • Basic math and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and execute recipes in English

Job Duties

  • Follow clear direction in food preparation and storing
  • Clearly label and date all prepped items especially those stored for later use
  • Ensure that all food is properly prepared for use by the line cooks
  • Chop vegetables and prepare ingredients as needed
  • Break down stations and assist in food storage
  • Cut meat according to specifications
  • Weigh and mix ingredients accurately
