We are currently seeking a dedicated full-time or part-time Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team immediately at our Little Rock location. This role is pivotal in maintaining the standard of excellence that Chuy's is known for in every dish served. The Line Cook/Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing Chuy's signature dishes with precision, paying close attention to quality and presentation. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment, able to juggle multiple tasks and complex orders calmly and efficiently.

Candidates for this role should demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new cooking techniques and adapt quickly to new menu items. The ideal Line Cook/Prep Cook takes pride in their work and understands the importance of food safety, sanitation, and organization. You'll be expected to prepare ingredients such as meats, vegetables, and sauces with accuracy and consistency, following recipes and portion controls meticulously to maintain the quality standards the restaurant upholds. The role also entails maintaining stock levels, organizing kitchen spaces including the walk-in cooler and freezer, and assisting with inventory and waste logs when needed.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina to perform kitchen duties safely and efficiently

Job Duties

  • Efficiently prepares food items as ordered
  • Exercises food safety and kitchen sanitation practices in order to deliver a quality product
  • Weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes
  • Properly prepares meat, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients
  • Stays ahead of orders by anticipating demand throughout shift
  • Maintains cleanliness and working order of work area, tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Prepares and maintains the line and par levels as required by the current menu
  • Keeps walk in cooler/freezer organized
  • May assist with inventory temp logs and waste logs
