These roles offer an hourly pay range of $19.00 to $23.00 and accommodate weekday work schedules, Monday through Friday, with hours that may vary and weekend shifts as needed. Ideal candidates will have prior catering or banquet experience but the company is open to motivated individuals ready to grow and learn in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

The Prep Cook at Fresh Ideas plays an essential role in preparing food and serving customers in compliance with all federal, state, and local standards and regulations. This position involves executing daily production schedules from the Chef's instructions, adhering strictly to established recipes, portion controls, and food safety protocols such as HACCP guidelines. Candidates will be responsible for operating and cleaning kitchen equipment, maintaining proper food storage by labeling and dating items correctly and handling customer orders efficiently and with a friendly demeanor.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior catering or banquet experience preferred
  • Ability to follow health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work varying hours including weekdays and weekends
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties

  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef
  • Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • Taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • Store, label and date all food items according to policy
  • Follow HACCP guidelines
  • Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • Serve customers efficiently and in a friendly manner
  • Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • Resolve customer concerns
  • Perform other duties as assigned
