Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food preparation or cooking preferred

  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions

  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds

Job Duties

  • Complete all tasks on the prep list from the Head Chef or kitchen manager
  • Label and stock all ingredients on accessible shelves
  • Wash, chop and sort ingredients like fruits, vegetables and meats
  • Measure quantities of seasonings and cooking ingredients
  • Parboil food, reduce sauces and start first steps in dishes
  • Clean dishes, wash utensils and cookware, take out trash and sanitize kitchen
  • Follow nutrition and sanitary regulations
  • Keep track of ingredient inventory and collaborate on resupply
  • Ensure all prepared food meets standard of excellence and recipe requirements
  • Keep updated on recipe changes and maintain high quality
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and stock rotation
  • Communicate ticket times and potential problems with staff and managers
  • Complete assigned prep work and clean stations daily
  • Requisition products timely
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly
  • Label and sign all products with manager approval
  • Inform supervisor promptly of significant problems and take corrective action
