Job Requirements

- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking preferred

- Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills

- Physical capability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
Job Duties
- Complete all tasks on the prep list from the Head Chef or kitchen manager
- Label and stock all ingredients on accessible shelves
- Wash, chop and sort ingredients like fruits, vegetables and meats
- Measure quantities of seasonings and cooking ingredients
- Parboil food, reduce sauces and start first steps in dishes
- Clean dishes, wash utensils and cookware, take out trash and sanitize kitchen
- Follow nutrition and sanitary regulations
- Keep track of ingredient inventory and collaborate on resupply
- Ensure all prepared food meets standard of excellence and recipe requirements
- Keep updated on recipe changes and maintain high quality
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and stock rotation
- Communicate ticket times and potential problems with staff and managers
- Complete assigned prep work and clean stations daily
- Requisition products timely
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly
- Label and sign all products with manager approval
- Inform supervisor promptly of significant problems and take corrective action
