Job Description

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is a well-established barbecue restaurant known for its rich history and dedication to quality since its inception in 1983. Originating as a mobile concession unit serving exceptional Bar-B-Que throughout the Northeast, it quickly gained popularity. In 1988, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que opened its first permanent restaurant location in Syracuse, New York, and has since expanded to five locations throughout New York State. The chain is celebrated for its hickory-smoked barbecue, homemade sides and salads, and signature sauces and dry rubs that all contribute to a truly authentic barbecue experience. Currently, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is seeking a Line Runner to join its Syracuse team. This role is integral to maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen in a fast-paced setting. The Line Runner is responsible for ensuring that the kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils are clean and organized, and that there is continuous communication between kitchen stations to keep operations running efficiently. The position involves multitasking in a high-volume environment, assisting cooks and prep staff, and adhering to company standards and procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience with food preparation and handling, possess strong communication skills, and be capable of maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.

The job offers competitive compensation, with wages ranging from $18.00 to $21.00 per hour. Job Requirements

6 months to 2 years related experience required
Capable of using knives, slicing equipment and other food preparation equipment
Ability to place plates, utensils, pans, and cases on high and low shelves
Must be able to speak and follow written and verbal communications, along with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

Job Duties

Maintain kitchen work area, equipment, plate ware and utensils in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition
Maintain continuous communication between the line, prep and managers to keep stations fully stocked and service flowing smoothly
Prioritize several tasks in a high-volume kitchen while maintaining a strong sense of urgency
Assist other cooks, prep, dish, and smokehouse as necessary
Thorough knowledge of menu items
Completes all assigned prep work and sets up cook's station according to station diagram
Utilizes recipes and procedures every time a food item is being prepped
Executes cook to order items while supporting the line to ensure timely delivery to our guests
Prepares menu items according to recipes and Dinosaur specifications and quantities of food planned by Manager
Responds to any additional requests from our guests in a timely manner
Attends all company meetings and training seminars as required
Responsible for all cleaning duties outlined in the restaurant, completes assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Adherence to company uniform and grooming policies
Portrays a favorable image of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que at all times
