Job Description

Miller's Ale House is a prominent restaurant chain known for providing a vibrant and casual dining experience with a wide range of American cuisine, including classic pub fare and a diverse selection of beers. Established with a commitment to quality food and excellent customer service, Miller's Ale House has grown its reputation as a gathering spot for friends and families to enjoy flavorful meals in a welcoming environment. With multiple locations, the company prides itself on delivering a consistent dining experience that merges tasty offerings with a spirited atmosphere.

The Prep Cook position at Miller's Ale House is essential to the smooth operation of the kitchen and overall guest satisfaction. This role involves assisting the kitchen team with food preparation tasks, ensuring cleanliness, and adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards. The Prep Cook plays a crucial role in setting the foundation for successfully executed dishes by preparing ingredients according to recipe specifications and production guidelines. The individual in this position must be punctual, arrive in full uniform, and be ready to engage with the team and duties at the start of the shift.

In addition to food preparation, the Prep Cook collaborates closely with both the back-of-house (BOH) and front-of-house (FOH) team members to ensure that guest needs are met efficiently and promptly. Communication skills are vital as the role requires exchanging accurate information with managers and coworkers to maintain a cohesive work environment. Responsibilities also include maintaining a neat, organized workstation, performing cleaning tasks such as sweeping and mopping when necessary, and ensuring all kitchen tools and equipment are functioning properly. Any equipment malfunctions must be reported immediately to supervisors.

The Prep Cook is also responsible for completing end-of-shift duties, which include stocking the workstation to prepare for the next individual stepping into the role. Strict compliance with health and safety standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, is mandatory to maintain a safe working atmosphere for all team members.

This role demands physical stamina and the ability to perform various physical tasks such as standing for extended periods in elevated air temperatures and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds for short distances. The Prep Cook must thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining focus and attention to detail. This position is suitable for individuals who are committed to excellent service, able to multitask effectively, and willing to be flexible and cooperative within a team-oriented workplace.

Miller's Ale House offers a supportive environment where employees can gain valuable experience in the restaurant industry and develop their culinary skills. Working as a Prep Cook provides a solid foundation for those interested in advancing their careers within the food service sector. Overall, this position is critical in fostering the collaborative, professional, and positive culture that Miller's Ale House strives to uphold while consistently delighting its guests with quality dining experiences.
