Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a distinguished Napa-style tasting room and restaurant that masterfully combines a wine-inspired retail experience with modern casual dining. Established in 2005, Cooper's Hawk has crafted a unique environment where guests can indulge in scratch-kitchen meals thoughtfully paired with an extensive selection of award-winning wines. The establishment also offers a full-service bar and private event spaces, making it an ideal destination for various occasions. Cooper's Hawk distinguishes itself through its expansive Wine Club, one of the largest globally, which provides members with exclusive benefits such as curated dining and travel experiences, elevating their connection to the brand beyond the traditional dining experience. The company's vision is to create a lifestyle brand that blends the elegance of Napa Valley with contemporary hospitality and exceptional culinary offerings. Recently, Cooper's Hawk has expanded its portfolio with Piccolo Buco, a concept that brings the vibrant flavors of Rome, Italy, to its guests, further diversifying its culinary reach and enhancing the overall experience. The company values inclusivity and equal opportunity, committed to creating a workplace where all qualified applicants, regardless of their background, feel welcomed and respected. They also prioritize reasonable accommodations throughout the employment process. The compensation for the Prep Cook role ranges from $17.15 to $19.00 per hour, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. Cooper's Hawk supports its team members with an impressive array of benefits, including dining discounts, monthly wine tastings, medical and dental coverage, 401k matching, flexible schedules, paid time off, mental health and wellness resources, and opportunities for career growth and education in wine and culinary arts. This vibrant company culture is designed to foster personal and professional growth in an environment that values hospitality, quality, and teamwork.
As a Prep Cook at Cooper's Hawk, you play a vital role in delivering Uncompromising Hospitality through meticulous food preparation and kitchen support. This position is centered on precision and heart, preparing fresh, high-quality ingredients that are the foundation of memorable dishes. Your work ensures a smooth-running kitchen that consistently delights guests with every dish served. Responsibilities include preparing fresh ingredients like slicing, portioning, and mixing vegetables, fruits, meats, and cheeses, as well as creating hot and cold sauces according to exact recipes. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workstation is essential, alongside effective communication with teammates and managers to facilitate seamless service flow. The ideal candidate will be prepared and focused for each shift, taking ownership of their station and work, and consistently maintaining high standards of quality and kitchen safety.
This role requires a team-oriented attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Flexibility in scheduling, including availability on weekends and holidays, is necessary. You'll also actively contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen operations by maintaining equipment and identifying opportunities for efficiency and cleanliness. At Cooper's Hawk, you will not only develop your culinary skills but also benefit from wellness programs, career advancement plans, and a supportive team culture that rewards excellence and milestones. If you are passionate about food preparation and want to be part of a company that values quality, hospitality, and wine culture, this opportunity as a Prep Cook offers a fulfilling and engaging career path.
