Prep Cooks are responsible for preparing the fresh ingredients that make North Italia’s dishes special, from prosciutto pizza to the house specialty Bolognese. This role is about more than just chopping and slicing; it involves following recipes precisely to ensure consistency, portion control, beautiful plate presentation, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards throughout the shift.

As a Prep Cook, your daily duties will include prepping raw food products by rinsing, cutting, and portioning; completing prep lists to keep the kitchen stocked and ready; running your station efficiently during shifts; and adhering strictly to sanitation and food handling standards. This role suits someone who thrives in a busy kitchen, is detail-oriented, and values teamwork.

North Italia also offers competitive compensation ranging from $13.00 to $17.00 per hour, with the possibility of up to 50% next-day pay depending on eligibility. Job Duties

  • prepare our delicious Italian dishes from scratch while following the recipe to produce consistent results
  • complete your prep list, effectively run your station during the shift, follow all specs, and stock food as needed
  • rinse and cut raw food products
  • portion all the products, follow the recipes, and always ensure the plate presentation looks beautiful
  • keep it clean! follow the sanitation standards, make sure your work station stays clean and organized, and follow all of the food handling standards
