The role of a Prep Cook at Legends is pivotal in supporting its mission to provide exceptional fine dining culinary experiences within a high-paced, upscale environment. The Prep Cook is entrusted with ensuring that food preparation adheres to stringent quality and sanitation standards while delivering prompt and efficient service. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, as the Prep Cook is responsible for food portion control, temperature maintenance, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including cooking utensils, work surfaces, and equipment. Working closely under the direction of the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisors, the Prep Cook helps execute the opening and closing procedures with precision and professionalism.
In this position, the Prep Cook is also a key team player who participates actively in maintaining safety standards and impeccable sanitation protocols that uphold the integrity and reputation of Legends’ fine dining services. The role involves a hands-on approach in managing kitchen cleanliness, from cleaning shelves, walls, floors, and drains to handling kitchen equipment carefully to prevent damage or injury. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary training preferred
- At least 18 years of age
- One year of experience in a fast-paced high-end club or restaurant
- Ability to multitask and work in a team environment
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
- Availability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays
- Mobility to perform physical duties for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary training preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- One year of experience working in a fast-paced high-end club or restaurant
- Ability to interact with co-workers to assure compliance with company service standards
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced, team orientated setting
- Ability to read, speak and write in English
- Ability to lift and transport food and other items weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
- Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays
- Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing and pulling for extended periods
Job Duties
- Follow Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisors assignments for opening and closing procedures and food preparation
- Prepare food items by complying with portion size, quality standards, departmental rules, policies and procedures
- Ensure that proper food temperatures are maintained
- Responsible for safety standards, neatness and sanitation of work areas
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen including shelves, walls, floors and drains
- Participate as a team player with specific responsibilities related to preparation, excellent service and delivery of product
- Maintain proper sanitation for all dining and cooking utensils and cookware
