Job Requirements
- An understanding of prepping food products according to Metro Diner recipes using a variety of processes, equipment, and utensils
- a commitment to utilizing the recipe book at all times
- willingness to comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies and procedures
- motivation to ensure refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas are organized and clean
- ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a prep cook in a fast-paced work environment
- knowledge of proper rotation of inventory and FIFO system
- attention to detail in following recipes and portion sizes
- ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a kitchen setting
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a team
- basic food safety knowledge
Job Duties
- Prep all food products according to Metro Diner recipes using a variety of processes, equipment, and utensils
- keep your station clean at all times
- ensure refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas are organized, clean, properly sealed, labeled and dated
- comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies
- monitor inventory levels and inform the Kitchen Manager of product shortages
- maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
- promptly report equipment and food quality problems
