Metro Diner is currently seeking dedicated and friendly individuals to join their team as Prep Cooks. This role is vital to the overall success of the restaurant, as prep cooks are responsible for preparing all food products accurately according to Metro Diner recipes.   • The motivation to ensure that refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas are organized and clean, and items are properly sealed, labeled and dated
  • The ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a prep cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of recipe adherence and quality standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food products according to Metro Diner recipes using various processes, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and sanitary work station at all times
  • Ensure refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas are clean, organized, sealed, labeled, and dated
  • Comply with recipe book, portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen policies and procedures
  • Report equipment malfunctions and food quality issues promptly
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify Kitchen Manager of shortages
  • Correct any prepping errors professionally and promptly
