Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in food preparation or kitchen operations preferred
  • ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
  • commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen equipment
  • willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • basic knowledge of kitchen inventory management

Job Qualifications

  • understanding of prepping food products according to restaurant recipes
  • ability to comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards
  • motivation to maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work area
  • experience as a prep cook in a fast-paced environment is preferred

Job Duties

  • prep all food products according to Metro Diner recipes using various processes, equipment, and utensils
  • maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station at all times
  • comply with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies
  • organize and clean refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas ensuring items are properly sealed, labeled, and dated
  • assist kitchen team in preparing ingredients and supplies for service
  • monitor and report equipment and food quality issues promptly
  • follow proper inventory rotation methods such as FIFO system
