Job Requirements
- Understanding of prepping food products according to Metro Diner recipes
- willingness to comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards
- motivation to keep storage areas organized, clean, and properly sealed, labeled, and dated
- ability to maintain a clean and sanitary work area
- initiative to correct prepping errors professionally
- awareness to monitor inventory levels and report product shortages
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a prep cook in a fast-paced work environment
- knowledge of proper inventory rotation and FIFO system
- attention to detail
- ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- good communication skills
- commitment to following recipe books and kitchen policies
Job Duties
- Prep all food products according to Metro Diner recipes
- use a variety of processes, equipment, and utensils for food preparation
- maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations
- comply with standard portion sizes and cooking methods
- ensure refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas are organized, clean, and properly labeled
- promptly report equipment and food quality problems
- monitor inventory levels and inform Kitchen Manager of product shortages
