- commitment to following recipe book at all times
- willingness to comply with portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen policies
- motivation to maintain organized and clean refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas
- ability to ensure items are properly sealed, labeled, and dated
- ability to maintain a sanitary work area
- availability to work flexible hours as needed
Job Qualifications
- experience as a prep cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- knowledge of proper food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards
- attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- understanding of inventory management and storage practices
- ability to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workspace
- good communication skills and ability to work within a team
- initiative to correct any prepping errors professionally
Job Duties
- prep all food products according to Metro Diner recipes using a variety of processes, equipment, and utensils
- maintain clean and organized work stations at all times
- ensure proper storage and labeling of food items with correct sealing and dating
- comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards
- monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the kitchen manager
- utilize proper rotation of inventory using the FIFO system
- promptly report equipment and food quality issues
