Job Requirements

  • ability to maintain a clean and sanitary work area

Job Qualifications

  • experience as a prep cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • knowledge of proper inventory rotation and FIFO system
  • attention to detail in food preparation and cleanliness
  • ability to follow detailed recipe instructions
  • strong communication skills for reporting issues
  • basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • prep all food products according to Metro Diner recipes using various processes and equipment
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of prep station
  • adhere to standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards
  • organize and maintain refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas ensuring items are sealed, labeled, and dated
  • monitor inventory levels and inform Kitchen Manager of shortages
  • promptly report equipment and food quality issues
  • correct prepping errors professionally
