Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a globally recognized leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Established in 2015, OVG has rapidly expanded its presence across the entertainment industry by offering comprehensive venue development, management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales solutions. The company operates a diverse portfolio of seven world-class venues and collaborates with an impressive client base that includes iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions on four continents. OVG's commitment to innovation and excellence positions it at the forefront of transforming the live entertainment experience for audiences worldwide.
One of the crown jewels in OVG's venue collection is the PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Connecticut. As the premier destination for sports and entertainment in the region, this 15,000+ seat downtown arena hosts a wide variety of events, ranging from high-profile basketball games to major concerts and family shows. Notably, the arena is home to the nationally renowned UConn Women's and Men's Basketball teams, both of which have earned multiple national championships under celebrated coaches Geno Auriemma and Dan Hurley. Additionally, the arena serves as the home venue for the Hartford Wolf Pack, the AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers, making it a hub for professional hockey excitement.
The PeoplesBank Arena welcomes millions of visitors each year who come to enjoy an eclectic mix of events including concerts by world-famous artists such as Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, and Drake, as well as ice-skating performances, consumer events, and trade shows. As a vital cultural and entertainment institution in Connecticut, the arena continuously evolves to maintain its status as a premier venue that offers outstanding experiences to guests, performers, and event organizers alike.
The role of Premium Server at PeoplesBank Arena is essential in upholding the venue's commitment to excellence in guest service. This part-time position offers an hourly wage of $16.94 plus tips and is ideal for individuals passionate about providing high-quality food and beverage service in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. Premium Servers play a pivotal role in creating memorable moments for guests by delivering professional and attentive service during a variety of events ranging from formal galas and corporate functions to weddings and large-scale public gatherings.
Premium Servers are responsible for ensuring that all guests feel welcomed and cared for according to strict event specifications and service standards. This includes everything from setting up banquet spaces and maintaining cleanliness to the timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages. Working closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other event team members, Premium Servers help create a seamless dining experience by anticipating guest needs, responding to requests promptly, and preserving the ambiance of the event.
Attention to detail is critical in this role, as Premium Servers must ensure all food and drink items are presented neatly and served at appropriate temperatures. They also manage beverage stations and assist with clearing tables during busy service periods. Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor, these servers communicate effectively with colleagues and guests to foster a welcoming and cooperative environment. This role offers a valuable opportunity for candidates to develop their hospitality skills while contributing to high-profile events at one of Connecticut's most celebrated entertainment venues.
The position also benefits from Oak View Group’s inclusive company culture, which values diversity and equal opportunity employment. OVG believes that an inclusive workforce drives innovation and excellence, and they actively seek individuals from all backgrounds to join their team. The Premium Server role at PeoplesBank Arena is more than just a job; it is a gateway to gaining experience and growing within a leading organization in the live entertainment and hospitality industry.
