The Practice Support Assistant role within Bronson Orthopedic Specialists at the Battle Creek location is a vital position that ensures smooth clinic operations and superior patient service. The Practice Support Assistant serves as the first point of contact for patients, managing tasks such as answering phones, greeting patients warmly, coordinating patient scheduling, and performing check-ins efficiently. This role supports direct patient care by preparing and retrieving medical files accurately, directing telephone calls professionally, and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Proficiency in keyboarding, computer skills, and familiarity with hospital-based programs like Medic, Misys, or Tiger is preferred for this role, ensuring seamless handling of patient data and practice management systems. The Practice Support Assistant is responsible for confirming patient demographics and insurance information, collecting patient co-payments, and accurately entering charges and payments into the practice management software. Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments, tests, and referrals by adhering to office and provider preferences are key tasks, alongside maintaining patient medical records according to current standards. This role also involves performing light clerical duties such as sorting mail, filing, faxing, ordering supplies, composing and proofreading correspondence, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
