The University is currently seeking reliable and diligent Porters to join this dynamic Housing Department team. The Porter role is critical in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance within the residential buildings associated with the University. The positions are full-time and offer an annual salary of $42,500. In this role, individuals will be responsible for tasks such as cleaning public, semi-public, and common areas including hallways, stairwells, lobbies, and restrooms, as well as preparing vacant apartments for new occupants to ensure they are in optimal condition. The role also encompasses operational duties involving furniture and appliance moves, garbage and recycling removal, and snow clearing to maintain accessible and safe entrances and walkways.

In addition to routine duties, Porters are expected to be proficient in operating various building equipment, including trash compactors, floor stripping and buffing machines, and carpet extractors. Flexibility is essential for this role, as it requires readiness to respond to emergency situations such as flooding and to extend working hours during snow events or other emergencies.
