SpaceX is currently seeking a Temporary Porter to join their team at the Bastrop, Texas location. This temporary position spans three months, with the possibility of permanent hire conversion based on performance and business needs. The Porter will play a critical role in supporting the restaurant operations within SpaceX’s private dining facilities. This role involves maintaining smooth logistics, assisting kitchen and culinary teams, and ensuring a clean and well-stocked environment in line with operational standards.

The Porter’s responsibilities are diverse and essential for the daily function of the dining services, including managing the reception and distribution of supplies, conducting equipment checks, assisting with inventory control, and operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts after proper training. This position requires excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with culinary, café, and facilities teams, ensuring that all requirements are met promptly and accurately.

Given the nature of the job, physical fitness is important, with duties involving lifting items up to 45 lbs, prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and carrying heavy objects unassisted. The candidate must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and potential overtime hours as business needs dictate. Job Requirements

  • ability to carry large heavy items unassisted such as large packages, dishes in tubs, or trays (up to 45 lbs)
  • ability to stand for long periods of time – up to 8-10 hours a day
  • must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime, weekends and holiday(s) as needed
  • frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects
  • high school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of either restaurant experience, warehouse experience, and/or customer service experience
  • ITAR requirements - applicant must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful, permanent resident, refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of either restaurant experience, warehouse experience, and/or customer service experience
  • restaurant experience preferred

  • inventory experience preferred
  • self-motivated and work well with others
  • current and valid food handler card or equivalent

Job Duties

  • support daily operational logistics including delivery receiving, restocking, and internal distribution of supplies
  • conduct daily checks of water jug stations, soda bibs, and CO2 systems to maintain uptime and service reliability
  • fulfill and deliver requisitions accurately, ensuring communication and documentation via internal systems and team channels
  • assist with weekly inventory counts and ordering cycles to support production and service schedules
  • verify product quality, expiration, and invoice accuracy during receiving
  • escalate discrepancies as needed
  • operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) safely and efficiently once trained
  • maintain clean, organized, and compliant storage and staging areas
  • collaborate cross-functionally with culinary, café, and facilities teams to anticipate needs and prevent shortages
  • support special projects or operational setups as assigned by site leadership
