The role of Service Porter at AutoNation is a vital position focused on maintaining and servicing vehicles, ensuring they are clean, safe, and ready for customers and dealership personnel. This role involves a variety of responsibilities including assisting with service write-ups, tagging customer cars and trucks, and removing vehicle protective coverings before vehicles are returned to customers. In addition to vehicle maintenance, the Service Porter plays a key role in supporting customer and dealership staff by providing transportation services and performing deliveries as needed. The role also includes keeping the vehicle lot neat and orderly by moving units according to dealership display standards and returning keys to the appropriate service consultant. Other duties include picking up vehicles from storage, delivering vehicles, picking up parts from the Parts Department, testing batteries of customer vehicles, maintaining building and grounds, and assisting with shop clean-up and deliveries when required.

The ability to drive manual transmission vehicles and operate automobiles safely are essential.
