The Porter position within Cushman & Wakefield’s multifamily division plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall upkeep of residential properties. This role directly supports the resident and property management teams by preparing vacant units for marketing and occupancy through thorough cleaning and inspection. The Porter is also responsible for maintaining common areas such as the business office, restrooms, laundry rooms, and model apartments, ensuring that these spaces meet high standards of cleanliness and presentation at all times. Additionally, the Porter looks after the exterior aspects of the property including landscaping areas, driveways, parking lots, curbs, and dumpster locations, helping to preserve the property's curb appeal and safety.

Working closely with maintenance staff and reporting directly to the Resident Manager and Property Manager, the Porter is a frontline ambassador for Cushman & Wakefield’s commitment to resident satisfaction. Providing world-class customer service, the Porter addresses resident concerns courteously and professionally, contributing to a positive living environment. Safety awareness and adherence to company policies are paramount in this role as it involves using various cleaning agents and equipment, traversing multiple property locations, and handling physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving objects up to 25 pounds. The position typically operates in both indoor office environments and outdoor property sites, adapting to varying weather conditions.

Compensation for this role ranges from $15.30 to $18.00 per hour, reflecting factors such as geographic location, experience, and job type. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma, GED, trade, technical or vocational school
  • some related experience
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and step stools
  • ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force
  • ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of safe use of cleaning agents and equipment
  • experience cleaning multifamily residential or commercial buildings preferred

Job Duties

  • clean the property business office, restrooms, laundry rooms, model apartments and property common areas on a defined schedule
  • clean vacant apartment units in preparation for showing and occupancy
  • maintain overall upkeep of property landscape and exterior image including driveways, parking lots, curbs, dumpster areas, exterior hallways and public areas
  • provide world class customer service by addressing resident concerns and maintenance needs professionally
  • report maintenance problems to supervisor
  • assist with inventory control
  • perform job duties using safety guidelines and report obstacles
  • perform other duties as assigned
