The company is highly regarded in the financial industry for its innovative approach and robust infrastructure supporting global markets. ICE is known for its commitment to employee well-being, diversity, inclusion, and providing competitive benefits. This position is based in New York and offers a base salary range of $53,177 to $67,109 USD, with compensation tailored to the individual’s skills and experience. The role is full-time and includes eligibility for comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) plan, life insurance, paid time off, and leave for qualifying circumstances.
The Elevator Operator role at Intercontinental Exchange is integral to the smooth operation of client interactions, VIP visits, and executive engagements within the company’s premier office locations. The individual in this position is responsible for operating passenger elevators during important events such as daily bell groups, client meetings, and visits by VIPs and executive officers. Professional interaction with clients, executives, and VIPs is essential, requiring excellent communication skills and a presentable appearance.
A critical component of this role is the ability to read and interpret elevator and room reservation schedules accurately, allowing the operator to assist guests effectively and direct them to the correct locations within the building. The operator also ensures that conference and event rooms, located on the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 17th floors, are set up properly with chairs, furniture, and special equipment as needed. This requires attention to detail and organizational skills.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness in assigned areas within the office buildings, responding promptly to emergencies such as spills or leaks, and ensuring the safety and accessibility of building entrances by removing snow or ice when necessary. The role extends to managing supplies and storage rooms, keeping them organized and well-stocked.
The operator also supports freight operations, assisting with load-in/load-out activities for deliveries, client events, and bulky materials across the various departments of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) operations. Flexibility to work overtime and handle miscellaneous duties as assigned is also a key expectation for this role.
Candidates must be physically capable of safely lifting or moving heavy objects up to 75 pounds and should demonstrate careful attention to safety and proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. The job demands a high level of professionalism in interfacing with both internal employees and external customers daily, facilitating a positive and efficient navigation experience through the Conference Center and other areas.
Overall, this role is vital to ensuring that the facility runs efficiently during high-profile events and everyday operations, reflecting the company’s standards of excellence in service and client satisfaction. It offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a proactive attitude, safety consciousness, and strong interpersonal skills to contribute to a premier global financial institution.
