The role of Porter at Gerber Collision & Glass is essential in complementing the quality repair processes that the company is known for. This position is focused on ensuring customer vehicles are impeccably cleaned and maintained both before and after repairs, which significantly enhances the overall customer satisfaction experience. The Porter is responsible for the upkeep of the shop and office facilities, emphasizing cleanliness, organization, and the appearance of these workspaces. From emptying garbage cans to sweeping production floors, this role maintains the operational environment's neatness, contributing to safety and efficiency.
Additionally, the Porter takes care of the parking lots and grounds, keeping them orderly and safe, including snow removal duties when necessary. Customer vehicles are carefully pre-washed before repairs commence and meticulously cleaned inside and out after the completion of work. The role also includes transporting vehicles to sublet locations for specialized repairs. This position requires a strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Gerber Collision & Glass offers competitive compensation ranging from $15 to $21 per hour, dependent on skills, education, and experience. The position may also be eligible for bonuses tied to individual and business performance goals. Job Duties
- ensure consistent execution of wow (wow operating way) plan
- maintain daily housekeeping of office interior, including emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, and dusting countertops and work areas
- maintain daily housekeeping of production area, including emptying waste cans, sweeping floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and organizing tools and equipment
- maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
- pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs
- clean customer vehicles inside and outside after repairs
- transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
