The Porter role at Asset Living is an essential part of maintaining and enhancing the property's appearance and functionality. This role supports the overall maintenance operations by providing corrective, preventative, routine, and cosmetic upkeep. The Porter directly contributes to creating a safe and welcoming environment for residents by ensuring that the physical aspects of the community are clean, well-maintained, and appealing. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager, the Porter’s duties also include supporting the make-ready process for rental units and attending to various maintenance requests and work orders throughout the property.

This position requires the Porter to have hands-on involvement in daily community maintenance activities such as cleaning, trash removal, and upkeep of buildings, breezeways, and common areas. The Porter must inspect community grounds regularly to identify and mitigate any hazardous conditions or liability risks promptly. The role demands a proactive approach to preventative maintenance, contributing to the property’s longevity and minimizing costly repairs in the future. Maintaining organized and adequately stocked maintenance supplies and adhering to safety and OSHA regulations are important aspects of this position.

Beyond technical maintenance skills, the Porter plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service to residents and staff, projecting a positive image of the community at all times. Responsiveness to resident requests and effective enforcement of community policies are instrumental in ensuring resident satisfaction and community harmony. This role includes some physical requirements such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, working in various weather conditions, and occasionally handling emergency maintenance after hours.

Asset Living offers competitive hourly wages for the Porter position, ranging between $21 and $22 per hour, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
