Candidates must be able to handle routine tasks involving the safe use of basic maintenance and landscaping tools like mowers, rakes, shovels, blowers, drills, and sanders, alongside operating cleaning machines such as vacuum cleaners and extractors. Porters are expected to work with caustic cleaning chemicals safely by comprehending safety instructions in English to prevent accidents and injuries, ensuring the well-being of themselves, residents, and other staff members. The role demands a degree of physical stamina and attention to detail to uphold standards of cleanliness and order throughout the community.

Job Requirements
- Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs
- Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
- Able to perform these operations using units of United States currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Able to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
- Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed
- Able to safely use basic maintenance and landscape related hand tools and light power tools, such as shovels, rakes, blowers, mowers, drills, saws, sanders, buffers, vacuuming, extractors
- Ability to understand English well enough to read and comply with safety instructions for proper use of caustic materials and cleaning equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in cleaning or maintenance preferred
- Ability to use basic maintenance and landscape tools and light power tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to follow safety instructions and procedures
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with units of U.S. currency and measurements
Job Duties
- Provide cleaning services for business offices, apartments, interior and exterior public and common areas and amenities of the community in a safe, neat, clean and attractive condition
- Provide floor care services for carpet, tile, and wood floors including vacuuming, extracting, buffing, sealing, stripping
- Compact and remove trash and debris from community areas
- Maintain all grounds including sidewalks, public walkways and stairways, building exteriors, garden areas in a neat, clean and attractive condition
- Perform basic maintenance related work requests
- Mow lawn, trim shrubbery, and cultivate flowers
- Notify management concerning need for repairs
- Report potentially unsafe conditions promptly to Supervisor
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work performed
- May perform other duties as assigned
