This position is for a Housekeeper at FS Residential, responsible for maintaining assigned areas of the property to ensure they are clean, sanitary, comfortable, orderly, and pleasant for residents, employees, and visitors. A housekeeper in this role plays a critical part in promoting sanitary living conditions by preventing the spread of germs, odors, and unsanitary environments. The role involves the operation of various mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums, polishers, and buffers. Housekeepers will be expected to wash, clean, and replace equipment and furnishings as necessary and adhere to safety and regulatory standards including OSHA and EPA guidelines. The role may involve tasks that require following specific procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving materials or objects and cleaning up assigned areas within the facility. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in environments that may be damp, dusty, or dirty, and will be responsible for tasks such as trash disposal, wet mopping, dusting furniture and fixtures, cleaning restrooms, checking areas regularly, reporting repairs, washing windows, striper and recoating floors as scheduled, and maintaining equipment in good working order.
As a full-time, non-exempt associate, the housekeeper will be eligible for a competitive hourly wage of $25 and a comprehensive benefits package that includes dental and vision plans, paid holidays, time off benefits, and a 401k with company match. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred
- 1-2 previous custodial experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50 - 100 lbs following appropriate safety procedures
- Complete all required forms
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner
- Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level maximum 8 ft
- Regular and predictable attendance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred
- 1-2 previous custodial experience preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service communication and interpersonal skills required
Job Duties
- Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums polishers buffers
- Maintains facility in a clean and sanitary condition through washing cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings
- Works in damp dusty and dirty areas
- Disposes of trash waste and other disposable materials empties trash containers
- Handles cleaning solvents chemicals complying with OSHA EPA State Health Department regulations
- Plans work schedule for major tasks
- Damp dusts furniture light fixtures window sills
- Wet mops floors in assigned areas including bathrooms daily
- Cleans restrooms wash basins mirrors commodes countertops urinals tubs and showers daily
- Checks all assigned areas daily to keep fresh
- Cleans air vents
- Reports any needed repairs immediately to supervisor
- Washes windows as scheduled
- Strips and recoats all floor areas when necessary and as scheduled
- Checks areas for spills water periodically especially in bathrooms
- Uses safety precautions in all housekeeping services
- Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition
- Performs other duties as assigned
