The organization operates with a team-oriented approach where every member plays a vital role in ensuring the facility meets high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, which is paramount in healthcare settings. Lanessa Extended Care values diversity and equal opportunity, encouraging applicants from all backgrounds to join. The facility also adheres strictly to federal and state vaccination guidelines to protect both residents and staff.
We are currently hiring a full-time Porter/Floor Care team member to join our dynamic housekeeping and care team. This role offers a steady 6 am to 2 pm schedule and pays a competitive weekly rate of $17 per hour. The Porter/Floor Care position is essential in supporting the housekeeping department in its day-to-day operations to uphold the cleanliness and safety of the facility. The individual in this role will perform various duties such as wet mopping floors, shampooing carpets, buffing floors, cleaning residents' rooms, and ensuring that all housekeeping areas are orderly and sanitary. Proper maintenance extends to disinfecting bed rails, cleaning furniture, windows, and mirrors, and addressing spills immediately to prevent slip hazards. The role also includes performing scheduled floor refinishing tasks like stripping, sealing, and buffing to uphold the floor’s integrity and appearance.
This position is well-suited for candidates who are eager to learn, as no prior experience is mandatory, with on-the-job training provided. However, having at least one year of housekeeping experience in a nursing home or similar medical environment is preferred. The role requires a candidate who communicates effectively and tactfully interacts with residents, family members, visitors, and staff, while respecting privacy practices and residents' health information.
