The role of a Building Cleaning Worker at Brookfield Properties involves maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of commercial or institutional buildings. This position encompasses a variety of duties, such as cleaning offices, bathrooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas. The worker will perform tasks such as wet or dry mopping floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Additional responsibilities include making minor repairs, painting, carpentry, replenishing bathroom supplies, landscaping, and snow removal. Workers are also expected to sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors and surfaces, clean rugs and upholstery, dust furniture and equipment, replace light bulbs, transport small tools or equipment between departments, and set up tables and chairs in various rooms as needed.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience, with less than one year of prior experience on commercial or multi-unit residential properties being acceptable. Job Requirements

  • Make minor repairs, painting and carpentry, replenish bathroom supplies, landscaping and snow removal
  • Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floor, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • Dust furniture and equipment
  • Replace light bulbs
  • Transport small equipment or tools between departments
  • Set up tables and chairs in auditorium, meeting rooms or hall
