The role of the Mabo Restaurant General Manager is a pivotal one that balances servant leadership with delivering exceptional performance across multiple facets of restaurant management. This leadership position involves being the face and voice of Mabo within the restaurant and the surrounding community. The General Manager is responsible for developing a strong team by showing compassion and offering regular one-on-one coaching and performance discussions. By creating a positive “can-do” atmosphere, the General Manager sets their team up for success, motivating managers, leaders, and team members to achieve the highest levels of performance. Recruitment and talent development are key focuses, as is inspiring the restaurant team to align with company goals and deliver outstanding guest service.

In addition to the leadership and people-development responsibilities, the General Manager handles critical operational and financial duties. This includes developing accurate sales forecasts, generating effective schedules, monitoring inventory usage, and maintaining precise accounting and administrative records. They must analyze sales and labor results continuously and ensure the execution of financial and operational action plans. Moreover, the General Manager is charged with maintaining operational standards for quality products, cleanliness, sanitation, and service consistency each shift.

The role requires excellent people leadership skills, communication abilities, and the capacity to resolve issues following Mabo’s standards. The General Manager must be highly organized, an adept recruiter and trainer, and able to lead their team to meet financial budgets effectively. The position demands flexibility to work all shifts including weekends and holidays and requires reliable transportation along with a valid driver’s license. Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and maintain alertness in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of three years of general restaurant management experience and at least a high school diploma or equivalent. The ideal candidate will possess the skills to foster an engaging, energetic team environment, drive operational excellence, and enhance the overall guest experience at Mabo. The General Manager will also engage with the broader community as Mabo’s local representative, supporting events and leveraging relationships to drive business and boost catering opportunities.   • troubleshoot and seek repair support for restaurant equipment to ensure proper functioning
