The Pool Concierge role is a pivotal position charged with creating an exceptional hospitality experience at the community pool. Responsible for assisting with seating arrangements, providing towels and other amenities, and sharing crucial information about community events and promotions, the Pool Concierge acts as both a host and a source of assistance for poolside visitors. The role extends to maintaining an inviting environment by setting up lounge chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas daily, ensuring the pool deck is clean and safe, and keeping restrooms and refreshment stations stocked and organized.
Beyond hospitality, this role requires vigilance around safety by verifying resident access permissions and enforcing guest policies. Reporting of any hazards or malfunctions promptly ensures that the pool area remains safe for all users. The Pool Concierge also plays a supportive role in coordinating and assisting with poolside events and activities, adding vibrancy to the community space. This position is seasonal or part-time with a focus on weekend and holiday shifts, including special event hours, and demands physical stamina for outdoor work, including walking, standing, and light cleaning tasks.
Ideal candidates bring previous experience or an evident aptitude for customer service and hospitality, strong communication abilities, and a calm demeanor that suits the fast-paced outdoor environment of the pool. CPR and First Aid certification are preferred qualifications that enhance readiness for emergency situations. This role also requires employees to adhere to dress codes, including wearing appropriate swimwear or uniforms, reflecting the community’s professional and safety standards. Job Requirements
- Minimum age 16 years old
- Must be available on weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs when needed
- May be required to perform light cleaning including sweeping, wiping surfaces, and organizing furniture
- Must have visual and auditory acuity to monitor pool activity and recognize signs of distress or rule violations
Job Qualifications
- Minimum age 16 years old
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or concierge roles a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced outdoor environment
- Must wear appropriate swimwear or uniform as specified
Job Duties
- Bring a happy, positive, energetic, outgoing, and fun-loving attitude to work every day
- Greet residents and guests warmly, creating a welcoming and friendly environment
- Assist with seating arrangements, distribute towels, and provide other poolside amenities
- Share information about community events, promotions, and services
- Handle minor resident requests and provide plastic cups for those with glass containers
- Set up and maintain lounge chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas daily
- Ensure towels and poolside supplies are stocked and readily available
- Assist with light food and beverage service, when applicable
- Support or help coordinate poolside activities and themed events
- Maintain a clean and organized pool deck, furniture, and surrounding areas
- Ensure restrooms and refreshment stations are tidy and fully stocked
- Report any maintenance issues or broken equipment promptly
- Verify resident access and enforce guest policies
- Maintain awareness of general pool safety and assist with minor concerns
- Immediately report any safety hazards, unauthorized parties, or incidents to management or security personnel
- In an emergency, call 911 immediately
