The Bartender role at HEI Hotels and Resorts is crucial in ensuring a positive and hospitable guest experience by serving drinks with professionalism and care. This position focuses on maintaining the bar's setup and stock, preparing fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, mixing and presenting beverages using standardized recipes, and adhering strictly to all state, federal, and corporate alcohol service regulations. The Bartender is also responsible for accurately entering orders into the point-of-sale system, managing cash transactions, and securing beverage and cash assets at the end of the shift. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in the hotel industry is preferred, and candidates should possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, mathematical skills for handling cash, and the physical dexterity to perform bar tasks efficiently. Job Requirements

- basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges and understand portion sizes
- sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks and reach overhead to retrieve stock with or without reasonable accommodation
- ability to remember, recite and promote variety of menu items with or without reasonable accommodation
- ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check with or without reasonable accommodation
- ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods with or without reasonable accommodation
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons

- ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
Job Duties
- maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily function projections
- responsible for maintaining stock, cutting and storing fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables daily to ensure product quality
- greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
- mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- abide by all state, federal and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
- inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest including those served by other beverage servers
- receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed to balance all money
- locks and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank
- comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
- perform other job-related duties as assigned
