Job Description
Snowbird is a distinguished mountain resort nestled in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. Known for its breathtaking views and challenging terrain, Snowbird has established itself as a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts and vacationers alike. The resort offers a unique experience across distinct summer and winter seasons, providing guests with ample opportunities to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and a variety of other outdoor activities that harness the natural beauty of the region. Snowbird prides itself on cultivating a team of dedicated and passionate employees who share a love for the mountain environment and the outdoors. The company fosters a dynamic workplace with diverse employment opportunities, including full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles to accommodate varying lifestyles and preferences. With a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, Snowbird maintains a professional yet welcoming work culture, promoting equal growth opportunities and celebrating the varied backgrounds and beliefs of its team members. As a year-round resort, Snowbird places great emphasis on high-quality guest services and maintenance of its immaculate facilities, making it an exceptional place to work for individuals who thrive in a lively and customer-centric environment.
The role of PM Public Areas Attendant at Snowbird is vital to maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the Cliff Lodge's public areas. Reporting directly to the Housekeeping Director, this full-time, year-round, hourly position involves performing comprehensive cleaning duties across various common areas such as lobbies, hallways, recreational facilities including pools, steam rooms, saunas, and exercise rooms. The position operates on a specific afternoon to evening shift from 3 PM to 11 PM, with weekend and holiday work required, although specific days of the week can be adjusted to some extent for personal scheduling needs. The Public Areas Attendant plays a multi-faceted role that includes not only cleaning tasks like dusting furniture, vacuuming, buffing floors, and sanitizing restrooms but also guest service duties such as delivering requested items like rollaway beds, cribs, and dishes directly to guests' rooms. Additional responsibilities include assisting with laundry operations and participating in deep cleaning projects to uphold the highest standards of hotel cleanliness, occasionally stepping into guest room cleaning when business demands dictate.
Candidates for this position should possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have up to six months of relevant experience that demonstrates their competency in a similar role. Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, maturity, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are crucial qualities, as is the capacity to manage routine tasks proactively and to exercise sound judgment within company guidelines. Physical endurance and adaptability to challenging winter conditions are essential, as employees must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and navigate snowy or icy grounds safely. Additionally, the job can involve stress related to customer interaction and high occupancy periods, requiring resilience and a positive attitude. Working at Snowbird offers attractive benefits including a free season pass, discounts across resort amenities and partner services, medical and dental insurance options, 401k with company match, and convenient employee transportation options. This role is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and the mountain lifestyle to join a reputable, engaging workplace that values its people and their contribution towards delivering an unparalleled guest experience.
