The restaurant emphasizes fresh, made-to-order meals prepared by skilled culinary staff who follow established recipes and high standards. This focus has propelled the brand to grow steadily, making it one of the prominent players in the casual dining industry while maintaining its unique identity and commitment to guest satisfaction. The environment at Old Chicago fosters teamwork, speed, and a strong guest-first attitude which reflects in the food quality and overall dining experience.

This position involves preparing food items precisely according to recipe specifications and quality procedures while adhering to safety and sanitation standards mandated by health codes and OSHA regulations. The Food Preparation Cook works closely with both the back-of-house (BOH) and front-of-house (FOH) teams to ensure that guest orders meet their expectations, especially during high-pace service times. Key responsibilities include proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers, stoves, ovens, salamanders, broilers, and pizza ovens, among others. A significant part of the role involves replenishing stock, organizing work areas, and managing proper food storage and rotation to minimize waste and control food costs.
This hourly position demands physical stamina and the ability to work efficiently under pressure, maintaining quality and speed standards without compromising safety or food handling protocols. The role requires 100 percent standing and walking during shifts, with physical activities such as reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly. The Food Preparation Cook must be at least 18 years old to operate certain mandated kitchen equipment safely. The company also ensures that employees complete thorough training and validations concerning safety and operational systems to uphold the integrity and reputation of the brand.
Old Chicago looks for individuals who bring a positive attitude, a commitment to teamwork, and a guest-first mentality to every shift. Successful candidates will contribute to creating an organized and clean work environment, promoting both efficiency and safety.
