The Pick & Prep Team Member role at Lowes Foods focuses on preparing Pick & Prep products and providing product preparation services that create a sensory and engaging experience for guests. This is a hands-on position that involves active guest engagement through product preparation demonstrations, sampling, and suggestive selling. Team members are expected to embody superior guest service at all times by sharing detailed stories about the products, emphasizing their fresh, healthy, seasonal, and local characteristics. Knife showmanship skills are an essential part of the role, helping to highlight the services and selections offered within the Pick & Prep area.

In this role, team members operate the Pick & Prep department according to strict merchandising and operational standards to ensure every product meets Lowes Foods' high-quality criteria. Maintaining sanitation and safety is critical, as is performing various tasks such as product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, merchandising, and providing excellent guest service. The position may also involve making public address (PA) announcements and performing any other duties assigned by management, fostering a flexible and team-oriented work environment. This role requires individuals who are friendly, outgoing, and capable of engaging with guests in a fun and vibrant way. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds consistently and occasionally up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods. Experience or willingness to learn knife skills and the ability to work with computers and scales are also important for success in this role.
