Physicist - Radiation Oncology

This position is for a Certified Medical Physicist within the Radiation Oncology team at Intermountain Health. The role involves designing, optimizing, and evaluating advanced radiation treatment plans to ensure precise and effective patient care while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. You will work closely with physicians, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and clinical leaders to provide technical leadership and expertise in treatment planning, quality assurance, and radiation safety. Operating under the guidance of the Administrative Director/Manager or Chief Physicist, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all radiation oncology services. This full-time role requires a commitment to Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm schedules and offers an hourly compensation ranging between $101.55 and $156.73, dependent on experience.

Your responsibilities extend beyond clinical duties to include calibrating radiation therapy equipment per the standards set by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and state and federal regulations. You will oversee all aspects of brachytherapy and collaborate closely with the Radiation Safety Officer to uphold safety and compliance standards. The role demands active participation in implementing new technologies, treatment techniques, and process improvements to enhance patient outcomes.
