Its array of specialties includes allergy/immunology, neurology, oncology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, emergency medicine, ophthalmology, cardiology, nephrology, pulmonary medicine, OB/GYN, orthopedics, pediatrics, and urology. The Emergency Department at Good Samaritan University Hospital supports a high volume of 19,000 patient visits annually, operating 27 ED beds with a 23.9% admission rate. A 24-hour physician coverage and 12-hour advanced practice provider shifts ensure comprehensive care. The hospital utilizes the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system, holds a Bronze level ACEP Geriatric Accreditation, and maintains a JCAHO-accredited Gold Stroke Center. Exciting developments include an ED expansion scheduled for August 2024 and a new Cardiac Cath Lab affiliated with the nationally renowned Cardiac Center at sister hospital, St. Francis Hospital. The institution consistently maintains a low-risk adjusted sepsis mortality rate, reflecting its commitment to high-quality care.

Port Jefferson itself is an attractive community on the North Shore of Long Island, Suffolk County, just about an hour away from New York City. Known for its rich historical culture, vibrant local boutiques, delightful restaurants, and scenic waterfront, it offers a charming lifestyle with amenities like the Port Jefferson Ferry connecting to Bridgeport, CT. Physicians working here benefit from a perfect blend of professional growth and quality living.

The role is within US Acute Care Solutions (USACS), a physician-owned group and the largest of its kind nationally. Physicians joining USACS are offered ownership stakes, allowing them to shape their careers with a focus on outstanding patient care without administrative distractions. USACS provides a nurturing environment with access to top-tier post-residency continuing medical education, employing evidence-based medicine as a cornerstone of clinical practice. The culture fosters shared ownership and continuous improvement, aligning personal physician goals with exceptional patient outcomes.
