Job Description

One Medical is a revolutionary primary care provider that aims to make quality healthcare accessible, affordable, and enjoyable for everyone. Founded on a mission to transform the healthcare experience, One Medical integrates seamless in-office visits with 24/7 virtual care services, on-site laboratories, and specialized programs addressing preventive care, chronic disease management, common illnesses, and mental health concerns. For over fifteen years, One Medical has been delighting patients by focusing on human-centered care and technological innovation. In early 2023, One Medical joined Amazon, which has enabled them to expand their reach and impact more consumers, healthcare providers, employers, and networks to improve health outcomes nationwide. This partnership bolsters One Medical’s commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services with empathy, innovation, and accessibility in mind.

As a One Medical Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant, also known internally as a Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and highly positive patient experience. Located in our Flatiron office in Manhattan, NY, this full-time role involves a combination of clinical and administrative responsibilities. You will perform venipuncture and other specimen collections, assist with EKGs/ECGs and vitals, manage patient check-ins and scheduling, and handle billing and insurance inquiries. You will serve as an ambassador for patients, creating meaningful connections through empathy and excellent communication, both in-person and virtually. Your tasks will include managing patient feedback, supporting providers and the virtual medical team with clerical duties, and maintaining the office environment to ensure it aligns with One Medical’s brand and quality standards.

Success in this role is driven by strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork. Your ability to provide individualized, compassionate care to a diverse patient population—ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics—will be essential. You will be responsible for maintaining specimen quality through proper labeling, handling, and tool sterilization. Mastery of One Medical’s technology tools such as Slack, G-suite, Zoom, RingCentral, and Electronic Medical Record systems will enable you to collaborate effectively with your team and streamline daily processes.

Working alongside a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to team development and patient care enhancements by participating in team huddles, problem-solving sessions, and office upkeep. This position demands a high level of adaptability, self-awareness, and a commitment to continuous growth and feedback. If you thrive in dynamic, fast-paced healthcare settings and are motivated by the opportunity to improve patient experiences and outcomes, this role at One Medical offers a fulfilling career path.

One Medical offers competitive compensation with an hourly rate ranging from $24 to $26 depending on experience and location. Additionally, a comprehensive benefits package supports your health, wellness, and financial security, including paid sabbaticals, free memberships, medical/dental/vision plans, 401K match, and paid parental leave, among others. If you are passionate about patient care and want to be part of a mission-driven organization challenging the status quo in healthcare, we encourage you to apply and join One Medical’s innovative team in Manhattan.
