The role of the Philanthropic & Events Manager is integral to driving Buckingham Foundation's philanthropic mission forward by managing the full lifecycle of philanthropic operations and administrative duties. This role encompasses overseeing grant requests and gifts, coordinating public relations activities, and preparing materials for board meetings. Additionally, the manager spearheads employee engagement efforts by designing and executing events that promote team connection and purposeful experiences within the company.

This position requires a high level of leadership and strategic planning to support the foundation’s long-term goals, including budget development, financial planning, and evaluation of sustainable revenue sources. The Philanthropic & Events Manager collaborates closely with key stakeholders such as the foundation’s business leader, executive sponsors, marketing teams, and external community groups to foster partnerships and enhance the foundation's visibility and impact.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing philanthropic programming at foundation sites, coordinating employee community engagement and volunteer projects, and managing specific funds such as the Buckingham Angel Fund. They will also oversee branding, marketing, and communications for both the foundation and corporate events, including managing social media channels and maintaining the foundation’s website.

On the events side, this role requires championing end-to-end planning, production, and execution of all-employee and corporate-specific events. The manager will work cross-functionally with departments like HR, Marketing, and senior leadership to ensure events align with corporate goals, brand standards, and employee engagement objectives. Responsibilities include vendor sourcing and negotiation, managing logistics, and ensuring continuous improvement through detailed event planning and post-event evaluations.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • college degree in business, philanthropy, real estate, hospitality, marketing, or communication

  • demonstrated experience in event management including budgets
  • excellent computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office
  • commercial and/or multifamily real estate knowledge a plus

Job Duties

  • support the business leader for the Buckingham Foundation by creating annual strategic and operations plans including financial plans and budgets
  • assist in evaluating annual revenue sources to ensure sustainable income and progress towards goals
  • partner with executive sponsor for board engagement and strategy
  • manage operations plan, budget, and monthly financial statements
  • develop and implement grant giving guidelines, application policies, and collateral materials
  • facilitate all philanthropic and corporate charitable giving based on strategic plan
  • coordinate and oversee philanthropic programming at foundation sites
  • manage employee community engagement and volunteer projects
  • coordinate with HR to manage Buckingham Angel Fund
  • represent Buckingham Foundation before agencies and community groups
  • partner with marketing to create and direct branding, marketing, and communication plans for foundation and corporate events
  • collaborate with social media vendor to manage foundation’s external channels and website
  • create and distribute required reporting including the annual report
  • actively develop internal and external support for the foundation
  • coordinate, prepare, and participate in board meetings including agenda and reports
  • serve as liaison with teams and departments for events and projects
  • champion end-to-end planning and execution of all-employee and corporate events
  • develop and manage event briefs, run-of-show documents, and post-event recaps
  • source, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, HR, CX Action Committee, and senior leadership to align event strategy
