PG Project Manager II

The opening at the Rio Nogales Power Station located in Seguin, TX, is for a dynamic professional to join the Power Generation division. This role operates at pay grade 18 under the general supervision of the Senior Manager of Plant Operations Maintenance. The position is pivotal in overseeing the East Texas Peakers and the associated contracts, emphasizing cost tracking, budget management, and managing multiple projects from inception through completion. The successful candidate will serve various roles, including project manager, discipline lead, and field construction coordinator, to ensure the safety, environmental quality, reliability, infrastructure modernization, and operational efficiency of power plant projects.

The candidate will be responsible for comprehensive project management covering all stages of the project life cycle: initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. They will assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, identify and allocate resources, and develop schedules to meet project deadlines. Familiarity with the project scope and objectives, as well as the roles and functions of each team member, will be critical to effectively coordinate team activities and deliver results. This role demands hands-on leadership in project execution, driving solutions for critical business issues, and ensuring that all projects comply with codes, regulations, and company standards.

Additional responsibilities include facilitating team efforts, integrating project management principles, developing and submitting business cases and project justifications, negotiating with vendors and contractors, monitoring design and construction activities, reviewing documentation, and training operational personnel. The incumbent will play a key role in managing budgets, costs, schedules, and risks, supporting senior management decisions, and contributing to long-term capital budgeting.
