The current opening for a perinatal therapist reflects Aspire's dedication to specialized mental health care, particularly for individuals navigating the unique challenges associated with pregnancy and the postpartum period. The perinatal therapist plays a crucial role in delivering outpatient psychotherapy services to adults facing a range of reproductive and perinatal mental health issues. This position is ideal for skilled clinicians who are passionate about women's mental health and comfortable addressing complex emotional and relational dynamics that occur during transitions to parenthood. The therapist will work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary setting alongside psychiatric providers, nurses, and medical staff to address patients’ diverse needs.

This role involves providing individualized psychotherapy to support patients managing postpartum depression and anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, birth trauma, pregnancy-related mood disorders, infertility, pregnancy and infant loss, parenting stress, identity transitions, and family adjustment concerns. The therapist will utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)-informed skills, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness practices, and trauma-informed approaches. Maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation is also a key responsibility, alongside actively participating in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities. Furthermore, this clinician will collaborate with a broad spectrum of care providers, including OB/GYNs, pediatricians, doulas, lactation consultants, and community resources to promote holistic patient care.

Aspire Health and Community Services seeks candidates who hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work or Counseling Psychology and possess independent licensure in Massachusetts (with LICSW, LMHC, PsyD, or PhD preferred). Experience in perinatal, postpartum, or women's mental health populations is essential, along with strong clinical assessment and psychotherapy skills. The organization values compassionate, inclusive, and culturally responsive care, so excellent communication and collaboration capabilities are necessary for success in this role. Preferred qualifications include PMH-C certification or interest in obtaining it, specialized training in perinatal mental health, trauma, attachment, or reproductive psychology, as well as experience with couples or family work and integrated care settings.
