Job Description

GDIT (General Dynamics Information Technology) is a global technology and professional services company that provides innovative technology solutions and mission services to every major agency within the U.S. government, defense, and intelligence communities. With a talented workforce of over 26,000 professionals operating across more than 50 countries, GDIT offers cutting-edge expertise in AI, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, software development, and more. The company's mission is to empower government agencies with immediate value by leveraging advanced technology to drive innovation and deliver exceptional results in support of national security and critical missions.

Currently, GDIT is hiring for the position of Performance Dietician, a vital role supporting mission-critical healthcare services at locations such as Hurlburt Field, Florida, and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (onsite workplace). This is a regular, full-time position requiring a Top Secret clearance level and is projected to start in 2026. The anticipated salary range is $72,877 to $98,599, with exact compensation determined by experience, location, and contractual terms.

As a Performance Dietician within GDIT’s team, you will be instrumental in enhancing the overall health, performance, and readiness of agency personnel including military members, athletes, and others involved in high-demand environments. The role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities focused on nutritional planning, counseling, and the development and implementation of evidence-based performance nutrition programs. You will engage directly with individual clients and groups to provide expert guidance on nutrition strategies that enhance physical performance, recovery, and rehabilitation.

In this dynamic role, you will advise command leadership on nutrition-related issues, develop nutritional protocols and guidelines tailored to varied settings such as garrison, Tactical Air Deployment (TAD)/Temporary Duty (TDY), and deployed environments, and collaborate with health promotion program managers and coordinators to introduce new initiatives. You will also act as a liaison between food services and command staff to ensure optimal nutrition is available at dining facilities and support the safe use of supplements and performance-enhancing substances.

A key component of the role is maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of all client encounters, nutritional interventions, utilization data, referrals, and other pertinent information through electronic health record systems like AHLTA and MHS GENESIS, as well as enterprise-wide databases such as Smartbase. You will participate in quality assurance activities, peer reviews, and ongoing inservice training to maintain professional competencies and stay abreast of the latest developments in sports dietetics and performance nutrition.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Nutrition Science or a related field, hold certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) through the American Dietetic Association, and preferably have specialty certification as a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). Additional certifications such as Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and, ideally, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credentials are highly valued. The position requires at least five years of relevant, continuous experience working with elite athletes at NCAA Division I, Olympic, professional, or military levels. Candidates must have U.S. citizenship and be capable of meeting physical demands including hiking over rough terrain and assisting with strength and conditioning training.

GDIT values its people as the key differentiator to drive mission success. As part of the team, you will benefit from professional growth opportunities including paid education and certification programs, a comprehensive health and wellness package, 401(k) with company match, access to state-of-the-art technology, as well as paid vacation and holidays to rest and recharge. Internal mobility is a priority to help you take ownership of your career path while contributing meaningfully to protecting the nation’s safety and security.

Joining GDIT means becoming part of a community with a shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and public service. If you are passionate about leveraging your expertise in nutrition science to support high-performing individuals and teams in challenging settings, this Performance Dietician role offers an exceptional opportunity to make a personal impact and grow within a respected, mission-driven organization.
