Job Requirements

  • Equivalent to high school graduation
  • three to five years culinary experience
  • must possess valid Clark County Health Department Food Handler Safety Training card
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently
  • ability to work shifts and weekends
  • physical stamina to work in a kitchen environment
  • compliance with infection control policies
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • knowledge of federal and state food and health regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • three to five years culinary experience
  • valid Clark County Health Department Food Handler Safety Training card
  • experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • knowledge of modified diets preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Job Duties

  • Prepare meal entrees and food for special functions
  • prepare cafeteria and patient menus
  • prepare checklists for food handlers
  • ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • monitor and assign work activities
  • maintain proper sanitation in food handling
  • operate kitchen and cafeteria equipment such as ovens, meat slicers, and mixers
