With nearly $45 billion in annual system-wide sales and more than 32,000 restaurants operating across over 120 countries and territories, RBI stands as one of the largest and most influential companies in the sector. Each of the brands under RBI's umbrella boasts decades of rich history, delivering remarkable service to their guests, franchisees, and community partners worldwide. RBI emphasizes sustainable business practices through its Restaurant Brands for Good framework which focuses on improving outcomes related to food quality, environmental responsibility, and enhancing well-being in the communities they serve.
Joining RBI means becoming part of a company dedicated to growth by leveraging strong core values, dedicated employee and franchisee partnerships, and a long-standing tradition of community support. RBI fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration, supported by the global scale of its operations and the sharing of best practices across its brands. This dynamic environment offers employees countless opportunities to develop professionally while contributing to brands beloved by millions.
The Payroll Supervisor role at RBI offers a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented and experienced payroll professional to contribute to the smooth operation of payroll functions across complex multi-state environments. The individual in this position will work closely with the payroll manager, overseeing the end-to-end payroll process to guarantee accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. This role demands a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations, with specific responsibility for payroll tax processing activities including filings such as 941s and various state and local tax returns.
In addition to managing daily payroll operations, the Payroll Supervisor will lead and support the payroll team by assigning workloads, offering guidance, and serving as a point of escalation for complex payroll issues or employee inquiries. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to foster team efficiency and accountability. The supervisor will also ensure strict compliance with all payroll-related laws and company policies, overseeing garnishments, deductions, and statutory calculations while supporting internal and external audits.
The role also involves collaborating with HRIS and IT teams to troubleshoot payroll system issues, support system enhancements, and ensure seamless integration across payroll platforms. Attention to detail is vital for conducting payroll reconciliations, analyzing payroll metrics, and generating reports that guide leadership decisions. RBI is committed to continuous improvement, and the Payroll Supervisor is expected to identify opportunities for operational streamlining and documenting processes to maintain excellence and efficiency.
This position is based in Syracuse, NY, with a requirement to work onsite five days per week, supporting a collaborative and engaged team environment. The role offers a competitive base salary range of $80,000 to $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, location, and skill set. Employees in this role are also eligible to participate in RBI’s annual discretionary bonus plan and may receive additional compensation through equity grants under the company’s long-term incentive program.
RBI provides a comprehensive benefits package upon hire, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as fertility benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match after the first year, various time-off programs, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and telemedicine and mental wellness support. The company prides itself on its commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring an accommodating and supportive workplace for all employees. This role represents a critical function within RBI, offering the Payroll Supervisor the chance to drive operational excellence, enhance payroll systems and processes, and contribute meaningfully to the overall success of a global quick service restaurant powerhouse.
