Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree preferred
- minimum 5 years payroll experience
- 1 to 2 years supervisory experience
- knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- experience with multi-state payroll processing
- proficiency with payroll systems, especially Peoplesoft and Workday
- strong attention to detail
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work onsite 5 days per week in Syracuse, NY
Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or related field preferred
- 5 plus years of payroll experience
- at least 1 to 2 years in a supervisory role
- strong knowledge of payroll laws and tax regulations
- experience processing multi-state payroll
- hands-on experience with Peoplesoft and Workday Payroll preferred
- strong communication and leadership skills
- high level of accuracy and problem-solving ability
Job Duties
- assist the payroll manager with full payroll cycle including data validation and payroll calculation
- understand and manage multi-state tax processing and registrations
- monitor payroll deadlines and ensure adherence to schedules
- review payroll reports and year-end tax documentation
- supervise payroll staff and assign workload
- act as escalation point for complex payroll issues
- ensure compliance with payroll laws and company policies
