Job Requirements

  • BA or BS degree preferred in institutional management or dietetics
  • minimum three years progressive experience in healthcare foodservice management or equivalent combination of education and experience such as Certified Dietary Manager certification
  • at least five years progressive supervisory or management experience
  • ability to work effectively in diverse and collaborative team environments
  • strong analytical, organizational, communication, and computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and a caring attitude
  • ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting demands independently
  • ability to delegate responsibilities effectively and follow up
  • compliance with federal, state, and local laws and Trinity Health policies

Job Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree preferred in institutional management, dietetics or equivalent
  • Certified Dietary Manager certification or equivalent experience
  • at least 5 years progressive supervisory or management experience

Job Duties

  • Directly supervise the day-to-day operation of patient foodservice and ensure program service support objectives are met
  • provide a work environment that fosters positive energy, creativity, and teamwork
  • assure dietitians, diet office, tray assembly, and tray delivery staff are properly supported
  • follow clinical care policies for appropriate diet modifications and nutrition support
  • develop, revise and maintain education materials for patients, families, and medical professionals
  • provide financial control and assist in budget preparation and management
  • meet with direct reports to review operations goals and address issues
  • develop and administer program quality evaluations and review patient satisfaction survey scores
  • interview, hire, train, appraise, counsel, and supervise staff
  • ensure timely completion of annual performance appraisals and foster diverse team development
  • follow and enforce Trinity Health policies and procedures
  • manage multiple projects with the ability to adapt to change
  • ensure effective quality improvement programs including food safety and infection control
  • conduct and supervise meal-hour rounds and communicate results for operational improvements
  • develop long lasting partnerships with nursing leadership and staff
  • ensure safe working conditions to minimize compensation claims
  • manage purchasing compliance and ensure accurate patient menus
  • maintain accurate and appropriate records
  • demonstrate a cost-conscious attitude to time usage
  • handle additional duties as assigned
  • maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and Trinity Health codes of conduct
