Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two years of experience in customer service including one year experience in a health care setting
- Knowledge of reception tasks, clinic policies procedures, patient account policies, paperwork
- Knowledge of how to use office equipment including phone, computer
- Knowledge of customer service concepts including importance of appropriate image
- Knowledge of emergency protocol

Job Duties
- Greets patients and visitors in a polite, prompt, helpful manner
- Provides necessary instructions and directions
- Helps patients needing assistance, involving management as appropriate
- Provides necessary paperwork such as demographics and privacy forms and obtains signatures
- Updates patient information in chart
- Scans insurance cards, verifies insurance eligibility, collects co-pays and co-insurance
- Receives account payments, provides account balances and issues receipts
- Maintains strict confidentiality
- Maintains clean, orderly waiting area including beverage area and reading materials
- Answers phones in pleasant and timely manner
- Reconciles daily journals and cash
- Follows clinical protocol in alerting appropriate personnel in emergencies
- Participates in education activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
