Job Description
Sodexo is a global leader in integrated facilities management and food services, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals and communities. With a strong presence in healthcare, education, corporate, and other sectors, Sodexo is committed to delivering exceptional services that promote well-being and operational excellence. The company operates with a mission to create better everyday experiences for clients and their customers, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity. As a socially responsible employer, Sodexo values diversity and strives to foster an inclusive work environment where every employee can thrive and contribute meaningfully.
This particular opportunity is based in New York City and centers around two premier healthcare institutions: NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. Both of these facilities serve as critical healthcare providers within their communities, offering high-quality care to diverse, vibrant populations. While the Patient Dining Manager role is located at one of these single sites, the impact of this position extends citywide because of the level of care and service expected in these healthcare environments.
The Patient Dining Manager will be an essential leader guiding day-to-day patient meal service operations in a fast-paced, urban healthcare setting. This role requires overseeing a unionized workforce that delivers compassionate and efficient dining services tailored to patients' nutritional and satisfaction needs. Collaboration is key, as the manager will work closely with nursing and clinical teams to integrate patient dietary requirements seamlessly into meal delivery. The position demands a focus on patient-centered care to enhance the overall patient experience, ensuring meals are not only timely and accurate but aligned with the highest food safety standards including HACCP, Department of Health mandates, and Joint Commission regulations.
In this role, the Patient Dining Manager will have the opportunity to drive service excellence initiatives, improve patient satisfaction outcomes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency. They will lead by example, training and inspiring frontline union employees, and upholding standards that reflect Sodexo's and NYC Health + Hospitals' commitment to quality and safety.
Employees in this position benefit from working within a stable and supportive environment with access to career advancement opportunities. The experience gained here can pave the way for professional growth within Sodexo's vast network as well as NYC Health + Hospitals. The company prioritizes employee well-being by providing a comprehensive benefits package, competitive salaries based on experience, education, and skills, and supporting a balanced work-life environment. For professionals passionate about improving patient care through exceptional service, this position offers a meaningful and rewarding career path.
Joining Sodexo at NYC Health + Hospitals means being part of a mission-driven team that values diversity, inclusion, and collaboration. The role embodies Sodexo's core values and its mission to improve individual and community health outcomes. It represents a rare opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of patients every day, supporting their nutritional wellness as a vital aspect of their overall healthcare experience.
