The Patient/Guest Relations Representative at Keck Medical Center provides vital frontline support and assistance to patients, their families, visitors, and staff by offering clear information about hospital services, resources in the surrounding community, and directions within the health campus. This role is crucial in upholding the hospital’s "KNOWN" Service Standards, ensuring that every individual feels welcomed and supported in a professional and hospitable manner, while strictly maintaining patient privacy standards.
In this position, the representative is responsible for greeting and guiding patients and visitors, providing concierge services that include assisting with lodging, transportation, restaurant reservations, and personal needs such as entertainment or gift requests. The role involves coordinating logistical support like transport of patient luggage, wheelchair escorts, and taxicab voucher requests. The representative also participates in Welcome Rounds to enhance new patient experiences, communicates surgical information between physicians and families, manages visitor passes, volunteer meal tickets, and ensures the hospital environment is safe and welcoming by coordinating with security, housekeeping, and engineering.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of customer service experience
- Excellent public relations skills
- Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) to be obtained within 30 days of hire if not current
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of customer service experience preferably in a healthcare or corporate concierge setting
- Excellent public relations skills
- Demonstrated excellent customer service behavior
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Associate's degree in a related field (preferred)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
Job Duties
- Greet colleagues, patients, families, and visitors with kindness following KNOWN Service Standards
- Provide accurate directions and assistance to patients and visitors within the hospital campus
- Offer concierge services including reservations, transportation assistance, and information about local resources
- Participate in Welcome Rounds for new patients and follow patient experience protocols
- Coordinate flow of surgical information and pager distribution to patient families
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in lobby and public areas
- Alert security about any issues and coordinate environment of care services
